What is a Debt Management plan?
Debt management allows you to make an affordable repayment to creditors after deducting your required living expenses.it is an informal arrangement between you and your creditors, negotiated on your behalf. Our partners take details of your debts, income and expenses, and provide proof to your creditors that you can't afford current repayment levels. You make one affordable payment, which is then distributed to your creditors. Typically, the new payment is half of your existing payments, but will depend upon your individual situation.
How will Debt Management help me?
One Single, affordable monthly payment
You make one payment into your debt management plan, this money is distributed amongst your creditors.
Reduce or freeze interest and charges
Our partners will negotiate with your creditors to agree reduced repayments based on what you can afford to pay and ask that they freeze or reduce interest and charges on your accounts.
Regain Control of your finances
This means that you can stop worrying about mounting debts and endless letters from creditors. Sort out your debts so that you can get on with your life.
What's the difference between Debt Management and an IVA?
Unlike an IVA Debt management is an informal agreement, which does not require a court hearing, it also does not require minimum debts of £15,000, however it does not enable you to write off any debts after 5 years as with an IVA.
Does not put your home at risk
Unlike a secured loan or remortgage, you do not run the risk of having your home repossessed if you cannot keep up the payments.
